Braised Radishes

1 bunch of radishes
1 T butter
1 T olive oil
1/2 t salt
1/4 t pepper

Wash and trim radishes and cut in half.  Put a pan over medium-high heat and add olive oil and butter.  Add radishes cut side down and allow to brown.  Add salt and pepper.  Add enough water to just cover the tops of the radishes, then cover the pan and bring to a boil.  Reduce heat to medium low and simmer, covered, for 12 minutes.
