Spicy Whelk Salad (Golbangee)

1 can of whelks (also known as bai-top shell)
1/4 C hot pepper paste
2  T hot pepper flakes
2 T white vinegar
1 T sesame oil
1 T honey
1 t sugar
2 cloves garlic
1 green onion, cut into thin strips

Open can of whelks, and rinse until any smell is gone.  In a separate bowl, combine all ingredients except whelks and green onion.  Stir till smooth.  Add whelks and green onion, reserving a bit of green onion for garnish.  Serve cold or as a topping for soba.
