Spiced Red Lentils

1 C red lentils
1 1/2 C water
1 t cumin
1 t chili powder
1 T garlic powder
salt to taste

Place lentils in a pot and rinse until the water runs clear.  Add water and bring to a boil.  Lower heat to medium and add cumin, chili, garlic and salt.  Partially cover and let simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until desired consistency is reached.
