Salmon Steaks with Lemon Butter
ingredients
2 salmon steaks (about 8 ounces each)
2 T butter or margarine, melted
juice from 1/2 lemon
1 green onion, sliced
1/4 t garlic salt
1/8 t lemon pepper seasoning
directions
Preheat oven to 400° F. Add lemon juice to butter and use mixture to baste salmon on both sides. Place salmon in a lightly greased square baking dish. Combine onion, garlic salt and lemon pepper and sprinkle over salmon. Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork.
notes
Remember that the fish will cook once you remove it from the oven, so if the salmon steak still looks a little raw when you take it out of the oven, let it rest for a few minutes and check again. Also, warn diners that with this particular cut of fish, there will be a few bones. But the tenderness of this cut is worth the effort.
